Introduction

History

Longtime best friends John Sumas and Barry Goldenberg always envisioned opening a business together. John, a supermarket executive, and Barry, a professional and commercial photographer, never had a chance to fulfill their dream until four years ago. In September 2012, they established a partnership and opened Bohemian Raspberry. Bohemian Raspberry is a locally owned and operated coffee, juice, and self-serve frozen yogurt shop in Westfield, NJ. The business provides a lax environment where customers can enjoy casual music, a lounge area, and free Wi-Fi. Bohemian Raspberry primarily serves local Union County residents who look for top-quality products and unmatched customer service for a great price. Bohemian Raspberry offers 16 different flavors of frozen yogurt including sorbets, ice creams, fat-free, and no-sugar-added options. Customers may ask for free samples for any flavor. After they choose a flavor and a cup size, customers create their own dishes with yogurt and toppings. After the yogurt is complete, customers weigh their dish and the total cost is determined by multiplying $0.49 per ounce by the number of ounces.

Values

Co-owner and Operations Manager, Barry Goldenberg, dedicates his time to build strong relationships with customers. According to Barry, “customer relationship is the most important aspect of our business.” Bohemian Raspberry’s employees are carefully trained to be polite, professional, and understanding of the many needs of customers. Furthermore, education is important to Barry Goldenberg. Bohemian Raspberry has partnerships with the Westfield Public Schools. The store provides portions of daily profits to the Jefferson Elementary School, and any student or teacher with a valid ID receives a 10% discount.
